2021 is the start of what we hope will be a fantastic year.
At Impact100 East Bay, the new year marks the beginning of our 2021 Grant Cycle and the kick-off of our 2021 Grant Committee! All members are invited to participate in this committee. Volunteering on this committee gives members a first-hand perspective of the incredible work that non-profits do in our East Bay communities and an intimate understanding of our grant award winners and finalists!
Our Grant Committee volunteers put in a lot of work over the entire 9-month grant cycle, including:
Evaluating 50 or more Non-Profit Letters of Intent to determine who we invite to submit a full grant application,
Reviewing the 10-15 detailed grant applications and collectively deciding which 4-5 non-profits move on to receive a site visit,
Preparing for and attending the site visits,
Narrowing the applicants to 3 finalists. At our Fall Gala, Impact100 East Bay members vote to determine which finalist becomes our 2021 grant winner.
Most committee members spend about 40 hours reading applications, attending site visits and participating in the three evaluation meetings. Based on our committee members feedback – it is time well spent!

We extend our sincere thanks to all the 2020 Grant Committee members. We could not do this without each and every one of you! Hopefully you will continue on the 2021 Grant Committee. Moreover, we invite any other members to join this hard working, but very rewarding committee!
